When I watched Spider Forest, I felt like I was stuck in a strange dream that kept slipping away. The movie opens with Kang Min, a TV producer, waking up in a dark forest after finding a terrible crime scene. He chases a shadowy figure, gets hurt, and later wakes from brain surgery with missing memories. Now he’s a suspect in a murder case.

The story jumps around constantly. We see flashes, dreams, and memories that blur together. You never know which moment is real. It reminded me of movies like Memento or The Machinist where reality keeps shifting. The film asks you to keep up and piece things together yourself, which can be frustrating if you’re not ready for it.

The forest and spiders are everywhere, creating this cold, uneasy atmosphere. Fog, close-ups, and strange sounds build the tension. The camera work changes with the memories, and the soundtrack matches those shifts perfectly. It felt like Twin Peaks mixed with a Korean ghost story. Kam Woo-sung does a solid job playing different sides of the same confused man.

I’ll be honest though. If you like tight plots with clear explanations, this will frustrate you. The flashbacks pile up and the film gets tangled in its own mystery. Some parts drag and the big reveal isn’t always surprising. But if you enjoy films that mix dream and reality, Spider Forest can be rewarding.

It’s dark, creepy, and full of small clues and symbols. Not an easy watch, but it does stay with you after it ends. Just be ready for confusion and don’t expect everything to make perfect sense.
